About Todd
My name is Todd Washington. My company is CPR Works. I’ve been an instructor since 1986. I graduated from Oregon State in 1985 with a degree in adult fitness management- very heavy in anatomy, physiology, sports injuries, and a business minor. I spent 17 years managing health clubs in Salem. Very early on in management, we found out how hard it was to find CPR classes for our employees. So, I became an instructor, and for the next 12 years of management, I was also the sole instructor for 5 clubs. In 2002, I started CPR works, and that’s what I do full time. I teach classes from Astoria, all the way down to Roseburg, Newport to Redmond, Portland, on south, out down to Coos Bay, so I literally am all over the state to do this kind of training.
As we go through the class, a couple of things about my style. I love humor. if you hear something you think is funny, it’s okay to laugh. Have fun while you’re learning about it. It’s not so fun when it actually goes down. The second thing that I train to is the rationale. I really want you to understand what is happening and why we do what we do. Because if you understand the what and why behind this stuff, how is a byproduct of knowledge, not memory, and memory is going to go right out the window when somebody drops at your feet. But if you understand what’s going on and why we’re going to do what we’re going to do, you’re going to be able to act very confidently and in a good way.
I truly feel that when someone takes one of my classes they will leave it with the knowledge and confidence it will take to help in the time of an emergency. No matter what your needs are for certification or if you just want to learn it for your personal benefit, I have classes that will be just right for you! Give me a call and we can figure out just which class would best fit your needs. 541-760-7632
